Irvine, CA, September 3, 2021 – COROS Wearables Inc., is excited to celebrate the accomplishments of all its users who competed in the various races in Chamonix this past week. Most notably, COROS is eager to recognize the podium sweep by its athletes – Thibaut Garrivier, Scotty Hawker, and Thibaut Baronian at the CCC.

Garrivier of France finished the roughly 101k race first overall in a time of 10 hours, 23 minutes and 27 seconds, more than 24 minutes ahead of 2nd place Hawker of New Zealand. Baronian, also of France was another 7 minutes behind in 3rd place to complete the sweep for the young GPS watch brand. All three runners used their COROS GPS watches to track their run, including navigating the route, monitoring their heart rate, receiving nutrition alerts, and managing other aspects of the race including pace, distance, and elevation change.

On the incredible achievement, Dan Suher COROS Director of Global Sales and Marketing said, “This is a great day for everyone involved, most importantly these three men, all amazing athletes who train so hard for days like today. This podium sweep, also showcases COROS’ commitment to the sport of trail running and its athletes, as well as the brand’s global reach.”

Each of the athletes used a different COROS GPS watch for their race:

  • Garrivier – VERTIX 1
  • Hawker – APEX Pro
  • Baronian – VERTIX 2

The athletes were elated with their respective finishes and the performance and reliability of their COROS watches.

Third place finisher Thibaut Baronian used the brand’s latest mode the COROS VERTIX 2 GPS Adventure Watch released just 1 week before the race and said, “I know I can count on the reliability and endurance of my VERTIX 2. I’ve set up the screens to have the data I’m interested in and to be most efficient. It’s really a trustworthy tool!”

After a Third place showing at UTMB in 2019, Kiwi Scotty Hawker returned to Chamonix with his eyes on an improved finish at the slightly shorter distance. On his race, he commented “The race felt super controlled throughout. I had the route loaded into my APEX Pro, so I was able to check on where I was on the climbs and knew how much more uphill I had to go. It helped me regulate my effort during and pace things well. It enabled me to arrive to Champex-Lac and have the legs to carry me home strong.”

There are few things worse than finishing a race and not having complete data. CCC Champion Thibaut Garrivier, never had to worry saying, “With my VERTIX I’m sure to have the best data accuracy especially the elevation and I have a blind faith in the battery.”

Congratulations to Thibaut, Scotty, and Thibaut on fantastic races, and some well-deserved recovery.
