Stellmaszek Appointed, Brandon and Paul Re-Appointed to USA Triathlon Board Of Directors

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – Three independent directors have been solidified for the USA Triathlon Board of Directors with the appointment of Felix Stellmaszek (San Francisco, Calif.) and re-appointment of Henry J. Brandon III (Los Angeles, Calif.) and Monica Paul (Dallas, Texas), the National Governing Body announced today. The terms for all three Independent Directors start in January 2022.

“Felix has a proven record of success across a breadth of industries and corporations and is uniquely suited to move our sport forward as an innovative, global, creative and strategic thinker,” says Joel Rosinbum, Chair of the USA Triathlon Board of Directors. “Monica and Henry have been instrumental in helping us accomplish our goals over the past two years and we look forward to having their expertise and experience continue to guide the organization and sport.”

Felix Stellmaszek is a managing director and senior partner at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG). The native of Germany has worked for BCG for almost 20 years and served its clients across all continents while being based out of the firm’s London, Mumbai, Atlanta and Miami offices.

Stellmaszek currently leads the digital & artificial intelligence (AI) efforts for BCG’s industrial clients globally. He has an impressive track record growing and transforming major international businesses, particularly in the automotive & mobility space. He is also very active in BCG’s social impact practice and the sustainability space.

Stellmaszek holds an MBA from the University of Georgia and a Ph.D. from the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg. In addition, he is a senior fellow at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He and his wife, Martina, live with their four children in the San Francisco Bay Area.

I’m therefore very excited to serve on the USA Triathlon Board as an Independent Director as this provides me with an opportunity to give back and make a positive impact on a sport I love” says Stellmaszek. “I do very much look forward to building deeper connections with the people in the triathlon sport who make this community so special – especially with an eye towards the 2028 Games in Los Angeles, which will mark the first time our sport is contested in the Olympic and Paralympic Games on U.S. soil.”

Brandon, who currently serves as Treasurer for the USA Triathlon Board of Directors, is the Chief Operating Officer, Partner and Director at Nile Capital Group, a Los Angeles-based private equity firm specializing in making investments in the asset management industry. As an investor, advisor and financier to growth companies, Brandon has nearly 30 years of experience in private equity and an extensive track record of success partnering with executives and entrepreneurs to create companies of enduring value.

Prior to Nile Capital Group, Brandon served as Senior Vice President at Wells Fargo from 2011-2015; Managing Director at Vintage Fund Management from 2005-2010; President, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer at Leeward Islands Lottery Holding Company from 2002-2004; Principal at William E. Simon & Sons from 1995-2002; and Assistant Vice President at Citi from 1989-1995.

Brandon serves or has served on several nonprofit boards, including the Advocates Foundation and the APGA Tour, where he is founding vice president as well as a founding board member; National Advisory Board Haas Center for Public Service; The Fulfillment Fund; The Riordan Programs; Sound Body Sound Mind; The Friends of Expo Center; World Golf Foundation Diversity Task Force; Arthur Ashe Safe Passage; and the Inglewood Baseball Fund. He serves as Co-President for the Stanford National Black Alumni Club, is a Stanford Admissions Volunteer and is a past member of the Stanford Athletic Board.

He earned a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Stanford, where he was a member of two NCAA Championship tennis teams, and a Master of Business Administration from the UCLA Anderson School. Brandon and his wife, Monique, live in Los Angeles and have two adult children.

“The experience and responsibility the organization has afforded me over the past two years has been extremely rewarding and exceeded my expectations – from assisting the organization as it traverses the COVID-19 pandemic to witnessing the camaraderie, excitement and success of our team at the Olympic and Paralympic Games, ” says Brandon. “I’m honored to have the opportunity to be a part of this community for another two years and look forward to exploring strategic alternatives to help the sport grow and reach new audiences.”

As Executive Director for the Dallas Sports Commission, Paul plays an essential role in implementing bid strategies and marketing programs that enhance Dallas’ acquisition of sports competitions and events, including solicitation of Olympic, professional, collegiate and amateur sports, events and meetings. She was honored by Connect Sports in 2015 as one of the Top IX Women in the Sports Tourism Industry and by Connect Magazine as one of the “40 Under 40: Class of 2013,” as a leader and innovator in the industry.

Prior to joining the Dallas Convention & Visitors Bureau in 2008, Paul served as the Associate Director of Events at USA Volleyball from 2007-2008; the Director of Competition for the 2007 National Senior Games; the Director of International and Domestic Events for USA Taekwondo from 2004-2006; and Director of Events, Marketing and Sponsorships for the Junior Volleyball Association of Austin from 2001-2003.

An avid volleyball fan, Paul joined USA Volleyball in 1997 as the Technical Coordinator for the USA Women’s National Team and was a part of the U.S. delegation for the 2000 and 2004 Olympic Games. She remains actively involved in the sport, representing the U.S. as a Technical Delegate on the NORCECA Federation Commission.

Paul earned a Bachelor of Arts in physical education at the University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Arts in sports administration from the University of Northern Colorado. She has served on the National Senior Games Board of Directors and Executive Committee, the Heart of Dallas Board of Directors, and the North Texas LGBT Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. She currently serves on the SMU Athletic Forum Board of Directors, the Jason Witten’s SCORE Foundation Board of Directors, Women in Sports & Events (WISE) DFW Chapter Advisory Board, the University of North Texas Sports Entertainment Management Industry Advisory Board, the Connect Sports Advisory Board, and the Dallas Innovators in Sports & Events (DISE) Advisory Board. During the fall 2019 semester, Paul will teach Contemporary Issues in Sport Management at Southern Methodist University.
