USABA’s Breakfast with Champions to Highlight On-the-Court, Off-the-Court Accomplishments of Goalball Paralympians
Colorado Springs, Colo. (October 21, 2021) – As a wrap up to a fantastic Paralympic year, the United States Association of Blind Athletes will be hosting its 12th Annual Breakfast with Champions presented by Anthem on Friday, October 29, at the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Museum in Colorado Springs with a virtual option for those unable to attend in person.
This year’s program will feature the on-the-court and off-the-court accomplishments of several of our USA Goalball athletes who competed for Team USA at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games. To recognize October as National Disability Employment Awareness Month & National Blindness Month, our Paralympic panelists include world-class athletes and parents who also serve in the workforce as government contractors, administrative assistants, and law firm partners:
- Lisa Czechowski, 6-time Paralympian, and 5-time medalist, including silver in Tokyo
- Mindy Cook, Tokyo Paralympic silver medalist
- Matt Simpson, 2-time Paralympian and 2016 silver medalist
- Calahan Young, first-time Paralympian & leading scorer for Team USA at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics
